Teach about Continents in the World
In this post, I will be sharing a free printable to teach kids about continents in the world. I will also be sharing ideas on how to teach pre-schooler about continents and oceans in the world. Thanks to these activities, my son now knows the names of all continents and oceans in the world.
He has recently started reading. So this activity provided him an opportunity to learn the spellings too.
Before I start any concept with my son, I always try to introduce it first with a book or a video. Mostly it is with YouTube videos. I do not have access to a good library here. And buying books every time turns very expensive.

I recommend you laminate the sheet so that you can reuse it for a longer duration. This printable will help the child to visualize the world map and recognize the shapes of each continent.
Your child may not remember the names in a day. You will have to keep repeating the activities for 7-10 days.

There are seven continents on Earth
Name the seven continents in the world.
The seven continents in the world are Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, North America, South America and Antarctica.
What are Countries?
A country is also a piece of land but smaller than a continent. There are a lot of countries in a continent.
How many Oceans are there in the world?
There are five oceans surrounding the continents.
Name the five oceans.
The five oceans are called The Pacific Ocean, The Atlantic Ocean, The Indian Ocean, Arctic Ocean and Southern Ocean

You can also use the globe for spotting continents and oceans. I have a globe and asked him to spot each continent and ocean on it.
