Hello !

Welcome to my Blog ! It’s good to have you here. My name is Yasha Kalani. I am the face behind this little website. I have a five year old son and live with my loving husband in the Pink city, Jaipur.

Besides running this little website, I also run the fashion e-store PLUM AND PEACHES. Please do check the same for western wear clothing.

I have done MSc Finance from Lancaster University, UK. I did my under graduation and schooling from Delhi. I have always been a good student. I love reading books on history and politics. I know some find it very boring. I also love binge watching Netflix in my free time.

I play an active role in my son’s education. I personally believe that Indian education system is not up to the mark. In my schooling days, we focused more on theory  than practical. I don’t know how much it has changed now but yes ! people have become aware that logical learning should be given more emphasis than marks. I am actively involved in my son’s education. I engage him in lots of STEAM activities. A STEAM activity includes elements of science, technology, engineering, art, and math. We all will agree that hands on learning helps kids to ask questions, connect the dots, problem solve, think creatively, and be innovative. I look for these activities from various blogs and books. 

About Urban Indian Mom

I find that all new generation moms look for their answers on internet. Even I did ! But then internet is full of false information too. It doesn’t have proper solution and reviews especially related to Indian perspective. This blog is an initiative to share my parenthood journey with all. I wish to share my personal experiences, recommendations, activities, research, thoughts and ideas with everyone through this blog. So I am here to share what I have learnt and know.
